Community Support

We are committed to be a positive member of our local community.

Across our stores we have implemented our NeighbourHug initiative, supporting grass-roots organisations and local charities in making a difference.

We are also the first organization to introduce an Additive Free shopping experience for our customers.

NeighbourHug is our community responsibility program. Community is at the heart of all we do and through our NeighbourHug initiative we aim to look after our local community, through our very own version of a big, warm, neighbourly embrace.

Our local community is supported with NeighbourHugs through:

  • Donating goods and vouchers
  • Supporting local projects
  • Raising awareness of a local cause and encouraging other community members to get involved
  • Developing initiatives that benefit the well-being of our customers
  • The IGA Community Chest program
  • Looking after the environment.

City of Vincent Mural Program

The City of Vincent Mural Program was a great chance to support a local project. The Good Grocer Leederville IGA mural is part of the program and has been created and painted by the artist Meski Mcvee.

The mural art in Leederville is an iconic project supported by the community and as a local business, we wanted to be part of it too.

We are the first retailer in Australia to introduce an Additive Free Easy Shopping Initiative. As concerns about food additives grow, we have designed a labelling system in partnership with Additive Free Kids. This is just another great example of how we are always striving to evolve in different ways to look after our community.
